The new vaccine is very similar to seasonal flu vaccine, with only the new strain of the virus added. Researchers expect it to be as safe as the regular shots, with only mild side effects such as fever in children or redness at the injection site. We get the influenza vaccine every year and encourage others to do so. Despite its shortcomings, it is the only vaccine we have right now; however, we stop short at forcing individuals to be vaccinated against influenza, either through mandatory programs or pseudo mandatory programs such as or mask.
