The past few months I haven’t been posting the full month reports up on here with the full breakdowns, just because I’ve been too busy to remember what the heck I actually did at the end of the month. So here’s a fast post.
This month what happened? Portland continued to be too hot because climate change.
It was my first month writing for Slate’s Pay Dirt financial Advice column. My columns come out on Mondays.
I also did a 3-week class series at Open Signal, getting volunteer certified on the Big Television Studio. I’m hoping to produce another show there (my first was in 2017, and I haven’t done one yet). I’m certified for editing and have taught their audio workshops before, but I am excited to possibly help on other shows.
I also got my first-ever youtube paycheck, after almost 17 years on the platform and 10 months monetized. A whole $111.00. Get rich on youtube, slowly, lol!
Also, foundation got poured and framing began on the the triplex. It’s actually happening now!
Other than that, I’m back to three jobs and very busy for the moment. I made a lot of money this month, but since my earnings were so slow the first half of the year, it’s just making up the hole in my budget!

It must be amazing to see it finally coming together. Are you planning to live there or rent it out?
Great post! It’s inspiring to see how you’re balancing multiple projects and still making progress. Congrats on the YouTube paycheck and the new triplex development. Keep up the hard work it’s clearly paying off!
¡Gracias por este artículo tan revelador! Tu perspectiva única y los ejemplos claros transformaron por completo mi comprensión del tema. Espero con entusiasmo leer más de tu trabajo
Lillian’s September sounds hectic! Glad to hear you’re back on track financially. Writing for Slate sounds amazing. Getting certified at Open Signal will open doors. Congrats on the YouTube milestone! That triplex is moving forward – exciting! Seems like you’re navigating life’s levels with the same skill someone needs to beat Geometry Dash. Balancing those jobs must feel like mastering an insane level. Hope October brings more rewards.
Kicking things off in a casual tone, I totally get how hectic life can be sometimes. There was a period when my to-do list got so crowded that keeping track of my progress was almost impossible, a bit like missing reports. On my commute along Pako highway, I realized how easy it is to lose track when you’re overwhelmed. Sharing a quick update like this feels so relatable!
I like that heardle isn’t just about guessing quickly, it’s also about listening closely
Your writings are rather well-written and truly helpful; I have great expectations for additional excellent material you will provide for your readers the next time you write.
The way you presented complex information so simply is remarkable. I admire your ability to convey such detailed information in an accessible way.
Thanks for sharing this update! I love how honest you are about being too busy to do detailed monthly reports – totally relatable. Congrats on the Slate gig, that’s exciting! The TV studio certification sounds like a great creative outlet too. Looking forward to hearing about your next show project.
The structure of this piece is excellent.
Portland too hot, three jobs, and finally a tiny YouTube paycheck — this feels so real and scrappy. Love how you’re hustling across writing, TV, and skating while still tracking every dollar and staying (somehow!) on budget.
Great to see you back to saving and juggling so many things at once! Congrats on the YouTube paycheck and the triplex progress. Keep it up!

Lillian’s September report shows a busy month! Balancing multiple jobs while navigating Portland’s heat is no small feat. Impressive savings and the YouTube milestone are worth celebrating. The triplex framing is exciting! Managing finances like mastering Ragdoll Archers requires strategy and precision, staying on target despite challenges. Grocery inflation hits hard, but overall, staying on track with the annual budget is a win.
